Kivu Beach Expo & Festival 2025 Turns Rutsiro into a Hub of Festivities and Tourism

The Mayor of Rutsiro District, Kayitesi Dativa, stated that the festival has brought new hope to residents, assuring that such events will be held more frequently in the district to continue bringing joy and promoting tourism.

She said, “I appreciate that the efforts we put into preparing this event have paid off. I thank Yirunga Ltd and their team, and I also thank the organizers who gave us so much joy. This is the first time we have seen such a festival in our area, and we will strive to make it a regular occurrence together with our partners who never disappoint us.”

The 2025 edition of Kivu Beach Expo and Festival in Rutsiro is ongoing from December 9 to December 15, 2025.

The festival’s exciting events will continue at hotels such as Kinunu Wonders, hosting boat races on Friday, December 12, 2025. Later, at Rushel Kivu Resort, there will be Volleyball and Swimming competitions, visits to swimming cows in the lake, and brochettes, which cost 1,500 RWF each, down from 13,000 RWF, on December 13, 2025.

Additionally, the festival will feature a Triathlon at Umutuzo Lodge, where participants will start swimming, continue cycling, and finish with running—all in a single continuous race.

Kaysun will host Badminton, while Kariba Beach will hold hiking events on December 14, 2025.

The festival will also include a three-day Boat Party from December 12-14, 2025, expected to attract many attendees.
